Charlize Theron, 49, says her go-to beauty tool is ‘like a face-lift’

Charlize Theron’s otherworldly beauty is downright riveting. And while she has passed the Dior J’Adore torch to Rhianna, the Fast X star is still dripping with high-class influence. One of the things she relies on to give her already striking face a boost? An eyelash curler. We in the over-40 set know that hanging on to our lashes is a top priority. We tried out all of the most popular options, and we found the best eyelash curler for women over 40 to be the Shiseido Eyelash Curler.

This one is well made and if you replace the pads (it comes with an extra one) and clean it regularly, you can hang on to it for years.

Charlize is now Dior’s jewelry and skin-care ambassador and she told Harper’s Bazaar, When it comes to makeup, I’m more of a brow-and-lash girl.” But she admitted to being a little late to the curler party. “I didn’t even know about eyelash curlers until 15 years ago,” she said. “Now I never leave the house without one. Just curling your lashes is like a face-lift!” Good tip, Charlize!

Yahoo’s Contributing Beauty Editor, Marie Lodi, tested simple curlers, because ones that offer a heat treatment aren’t great for the thinning lashes that come with age. She liked the Shiseido because it kept her lashes curled hours after applying mascara, and the edge-free design didn’t pinch her hooded lids, which can be an issue for women over 40.

“All my lashes fit in the curler with no pinching,” shared one Shisheido shopper on Sephora. “I only wear mascara for around 5-7 hours when I wear it, and my lashes stay curled… When I curl my lashes and apply no mascara, the results last a full day. No other lash curler compares to this.”

“I was very reluctant to buy this because it is on the pricier side, but I’m so glad I did!” another fan gushed. “It barely takes out any of your eyelashes but still curls them so well! The cheaper eyelash curlers that I’ve had in the past would actually cut my lashes and still not even curl them well! So worth the investment!”

One shocked shopper raved: “My lashes never hold a curl, so I spent the money on this, and my lashes hold the curl all day!”

“I’m so happy that I don’t pinch my eyelids with this curler, and it curls my lashes well,” shared a final fan. “That said, I wish it had pads where you hold it or something to make the handles so they don’t dig into your fingers.”
