Each week during The Golden Bachelorette, host Jesse Palmer will answer a few questions about Joan’s “journey” to find “love.” Today, Jesse shares his thoughts via email about his favorite night-one entrances, that pickleball game, Jack’s cooking skills, and more.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: The guys had some creative entrances (though I wish Christopher hadn’t made poor Joan do a shot of prune juice). What were some of your favorite entrances?
JESSE PALMER: Personal faves include Keith rolling up in his station wagon, Charles K. fooling Joan (and the entire crew) with his faux tumble, and of course Kelsey getting out of the limo to introduce her dad Mark was pretty epic!
The men seemed to be having a great time from the moment they stepped inside the mansion. How would you compare the night-one mood on Golden Bachelorette versus Golden Bachelor?
Similarly to the Golden ladies, there was a lot of excitement and energy amongst the men. I think the guys were probably a bit more nervous getting out of the limo than the women were, but they quickly began bonding together once inside the mansion. An impromptu pickleball game helped take the edge off as well!
It was hilarious watching Jack give himself a tour of the mansion. When you watched the episode, what were some of your favorite moments that you didn’t get to see on night 1?
Charles L. giving himself a private tour around the mansion was also priceless.
Speaking of Jack, his tenderloin medallions (with a Bordelaise sauce) looked amazing. Did you get to try any, and if so, how was it?
The smell emanating from the kitchen that night was so intoxicating that I made sure to sample Jack’s spectacular entree, and all I can say is “chef’s kiss”!
That pickleball game on the driveway was pure pandemonium, and Joan almost got bonked in the face with a ball. I’m sorry, but I feel like you should have been there to throw your body in front of her as a human shield. What do you have to say for yourself?
I may or may not have been too busy eating tenderloin medallions with Bordelaise sauce…
The Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
