Justin Theroux and his fiancée Nicole Brydon Bloom stepped out in New York City on Monday, Sept. 30, to support Robert Downey Jr.’s official debut on Broadway!
The couple was on hand to watch Downey, 59, at the Lincoln Center Theater during the opening night of McNeal, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar and directed by Bartlett Sher.
Theroux, 53, attended the Broadway show wearing black pants, a plain white T-shirt, and a black jacket. He coordinated with his bride-to-be, who was dressed in a black romper.
Bloom posted a photograph on her Instagram Stories showing a peak of the show, which runs through Sunday, Nov. 24.
According to a synopsis, Downey plays Jacob McNeal, “a great writer, one of our greatest, a perpetual candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature.”
“But McNeal also has an estranged son, a new novel, old axes to grind and an unhealthy fascination with artificial intelligence,” the synopsis adds.
It’s no surprise the pair went to support Downey, as he and Theroux are longtime friends.

“The first impression was wow. And then a friend of mine who was with me, literally the quote, [they] said, ‘That’s the one.’ Like, we hadn’t even met yet. And I was like, ‘She’s so stunning.’ So I went over and started talking and things like that and it progressed,” he recalled.
Theroux stars in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which is now in theaters.
