Now both Strictly Come Dancing and The Great British Bake Off are back, the countdown to Christmas is officially on. And while we’re already dreading the wintery weather, there’s one treat that’s sure to brighten up our festive mornings: our advent calendar.

Rather than the ever popular chocolate countdown, or those ones you used to get from your grandparents that just had pictures behind the windows (sigh), beauty advent calendars offer lovely skincare, make-up and hair treats behind each door. And, if sales figures from previous seasons are anything to go by, you need to add to basket sooner rather than later, because these babies sell out fast.

We’ll be updating this round-up of our favourites as new calendars are unveiled, so bookmark this page if you haven’t chosen which to go for yet.

Beauty advent calendars 2024

Liberty

The 2024 edition of the luxury department store’s calendar includes a whopping £1,205 worth of top-end beauty items, making it Liberty’s biggest calendar yet. And the price tag? £260, which means you’re getting a jaw-dropping £945 worth of products for free. Brands include YOU favourites Ouai, Ren, Sunday Riley, Votary, Lisa Eldridge, La Mer and Skin Rocks – click here for the full list.

Liz Earle

We all know how dry our skin can get in the winter months, so treating yourself to the Liz Earle advent calendar might just be the trick to having glowy, hydrated skin all year round. Across 12 days, you’ll get to unwrap £178.10 worth of products, including the iconic Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. There’s also Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion and Skin Repair Hydrating Night Cream – perfect for treating yourself to a rejuvenating facial post-Christmas party.

Charlotte Tilbury

Arguably the most anticipated of all beauty advent calendars, Charlotte Tilbury’s trove has 12 drawers teaming with the brand’s best-selling products. You get £243 worth of goodies for just £170, including a magic lip oil, glow toner, and of course the iconic pillow talk lipstick.

Bobbi Brown

This 12-piece advent calendar features three full-sized products and nine travel-sized bestsellers, including the viral cream shadow stick, a smoky eye mascara and even a make-up brush. You get £223 worth of treats for £160, a saving of £63.

Cult Beauty

Worth a whopping £1100, this trove has 19 full sized products and six exclusives you won’t find in any other beauty advent calendar. With brands like Paula’s Choice, MZ Skin, Charlotte Tilbury, Augustinus Bader and 111 Skin, this truly is a peerless December treat for luxe beauty lovers.

Boots

This year’s Boots’ calendar is one of the best-value on this list, bagging you £224 worth of goodies for £99. It’s packed with cult-favourite brands like Sol de Janeiro, Fenty Beauty and Drunk Elephant, and also doesn’t include any products with retinol or vitamin C in, making it a great gifting option for teens.

Fortnum & Mason

Fortnum & Mason is the home of luxury, and this calendar is case in point. Filled with 23 full-sized products (and a few other surprises), the chest holds a whopping £1,080 worth of goodies for just £265. Brands featured include Sol de Janeiro, Bamford, Charlotte Posner and Cult51, and 10 lucky shoppers will also win a Wildsmith facial worth £120.

Harvey Nichols

Le Labo, La Prairie and Dr Dennis Gross – need we say more? Brimming with heavy hitting favourites worth over £1,000, this calendar is sure to be a sell-out success.

Dermalogica

Professional skincare brand Dermalogica is a beauty editor favourite, and this year’s calendar is a great intro to their products. Worth £497 and including serums, masques, cleansers and much more, it’s sure to keep winter dryness (and dehydrated hangover skin) at bay.
