In multiple ways, nothing compares to seeing the magic of director Jamie Lloyd’s electric reimagining of Sunset Boulevard in person. (I was lucky enough to see it in previews a few weeks ago, and three mid-show standing ovations later, I was fully converted to a fan of the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic, which I’d previously found stale.) But if you can’t make it to the St. James Theatre, you’re in luck: The live cast album just released at midnight… and I’ve already listened to Nicole Scherzinger’s “With One Look” about 37 times. —Patrick Gomez, Editor-in-Chief

What We Do in the Shadows: Russ Martin/FX
“Venom: The Last Dance”

The final chapter of Sony’s wacky, Marvel-adjacent trilogy reunites Tom Hardy with his BFF alien symbiote to crack jokes while on the run from the U.S. government and an ancient evil hellbent on destroying the universe. Even with Venom horse, dance numbers, and plenty of mind-numbing action, it doesn’t always hit its marks, but it’s still the most fun — and, yes, heartfelt — of the uneven series. This may be Eddie and Venom’s last ride, but stick around for a post-credits tease of where the story could go from here. —Mike Miller, Executive Editor

The vampire mocumentary’s final season finds Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja, and Colin Robinson living without their former familiar Guillermo. Take a bite! A bloody binge awaits with the first three episodes of the comedy already out on FX and Hulu. —Debbie Day, News Editor

Unraveling Catholicism’s most sacred rituals, director Edward Berger’s tense thriller centers on a Vatican conspiracy during a papal election. The adaptation of Robert Harris’ 2016 novel features awards-worthy turns from an all-star cast, including Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci. —M.M.
Amyl and the Sniffers’ “Cartoon Darkness”
Lorne Thomson/Redferns
Aussie punk scene royalty returns with their third album chock full of sass, moxie, attitude, and aggression. Amy Taylor remains one of the most electrifying frontwomen in music, belting out anthems in her self-proclaimed “Tiny Bikini.” See you in the mosh pit. —Dalton Ross, Editorial Director
Cristin Milioti in “The Penguin”
Macall Polay/HBO
The title character may be played by Colin Farrell in Shrek face, but the magnetic centerpiece of this Max series spinoff of The Batman is actually Cristin Milioti as crime family heiress Sofia Falcone. Episode 4 in particular better win her a long-deserved Emmy. —P.G.
