You don’t have to live on a homestead in the country to love the Western, feminine, colorful aesthetic of Ree Drummond (aka The Pioneer Woman). The cookbook author and Food Network star has become about as famous for her beautiful kitchenware as she is for her mouth-watering recipes!
This fall Ree decided to go big on an autumnal theme: She introduced new colors and a fresh design to her beloved pumpkin-shaped Harvest cookware and bakeware collection. The pieces were made for entertaining — which should come in handy for Ree. With five kids, a grandkid on the way and a steady stream of visitors to her Oklahoma ranch, The Pioneer Woman is no stranger to hosting (and feeding) a crowd.
To get us ready for the upcoming holidays, we asked her about her favorite things to make in her fall cookware — which starts at just $25. Read on for the interview, then mosey on over to Walmart.com to see all The Pioneer Woman prettiness in store.
Yahoo: Which piece are you most excited about this fall?
Ree: This year, I’m particularly excited about my new Pumpkin casserole dish in the Harvest collection. It’s every bit as gorgeous as the stovetop Dutch oven, but it can go from oven to table so beautifully —and it is a showstopping way to serve broccoli rice casserole, Thanksgiving dressing, or any other side dish you need to make! It’s available in Orange or Merlot, which is a deep, delicious plum color.
Yahoo: How do you use the pumpkin cocottes and pie dish?
Ree: The pumpkin cocottes are just adorable for individual servings, and I love using them for personal pot pies or mini desserts (think cobblers or cakes!). The pie plate is another favorite of mine, and while I use it for my apple and pecan (and yes, pumpkin!) pies, I also love that it can double as a gratin dish for scalloped potatoes or other sides. It’s new in the Merlot color this year, so I’m excited to add it to my own collection! (I personally love and use all of these pieces—they’re amazing!)
Yahoo: What existing pieces from your Pioneer Woman collection would you pair the Harvest cookware and bakeware with on a table?
Ree: My entire collection is really meant to be layered and mixed and matched, but I love how my Harvest cookware and bakeware looks with the dinnerware pieces in the Painted Meadow collection. Painted Meadow is my newest dinnerware pattern, and while it is more evergreen and not specifically fall-geared, it really is great alongside the vibrant, earthy tones of the Harvest pieces. You can also work in solid dinnerware in any number of colors to create a truly personal table that’s all you!

This isn’t your ordinary pumpkin-shaped bakeware. A rich plum color (it’s called “Merlot” — fancy!) makes it stand out, and the gold handle, ahem stem, adds a glam touch. This casserole dish is the newest introduction to The Pioneer Woman Harvest collection, and like the other pieces, it’s made from durable stoneware and is dishwasher-safe. Bring on the cheesy, gooey, yummy sides!

An old favorite, this piece is back in Orange and White, and it also comes in the new color, Merlot. At 10 inches in diameter and with a capacity of almost 1.5 quarts, this baker can hold a lot of pie!

How dreamy is the floral pattern on these plates and dishes? That and the jade-green accents give this dinnerware a romantic, vintage-inspired look that feels special enough to use on your holiday table.

There’s nothing sweeter than treating your guests to a little bowl of candy at the end of a meal. This footed number is one of the newest additions to the Painted Meadow line. I love how one of Ree’s signature motifs, the butterfly, flits through the floral design.
