This TV Projector Makes Football and Movies Epic, and It’s on Sale

I transformed my garage into our neighborhood’s best place to watch movies and sports, all thanks to a projector that is on sale now at Amazon.

The Wimius 1080p Projector is normally $290 — already a great value for what has proven to be a powerful and reliable home theater component — and it has a coupon that knocks $110 off that price. I beam mine against a 150-inch projector screen with beautiful results, and this price makes it cheaper than most 50-inch TVs.

I bought this projector last December and have worked it hard over the past year, putting it through every viewing situation you can imagine, and it has impressed me at every step. I’ve played games on both Nintendo Switch and Xbox One with lag-free results, I’ve had neighbors over to watch sports on it in both daylight and at night, and I’ve watched countless movies on it in various formats, including VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray.

The projector’s built-in Wi-Fi 6 capability lets you mirror the screen of your phone or another device for wireless streaming, but I recommend getting an Amazon Fire TV Stick and hooking it into one of the HDMI ports for the most reliable results.

As with any projector, you get the best picture in dark conditions, but the lamp in this Wimius model is more powerful than most affordable models I’ve seen, and it produces a viewable picture even when all the lights are on in the garage.

This projector’s resolution tops out at 1080p — you’ll have a hard time finding a true 4K projector for less than $1,000 — but I don’t have any complaints about the picture, even when screening a feast for the eyes like the Dune films.

It has two HDMI inputs, an AV input, and an audio output port, but it also supports Bluetooth output for audio, meaning you can connect it wirelessly to a compatible soundbar for far better sound than you’ll get from the two built-in speakers.

I have mine connected to a surround sound receiver that’s hooked to five speakers and a subwoofer, which gets me close to theater-quality sound. Amazon shoppers who’ve connected this Saiyin soundbar and subwoofer kit to their projectors have been wowed by the results. That set happens to be on sale, too, for $50 right now.

Plenty of people who’ve bought this projector say they simply beam it against a white wall in their home. If you want a projector screen, especially for outdoor viewing, there are plenty of affordable options at Amazon. I like this 150-inch screen from Aajk that’s less than $30 right now.

If you went all-in and got the projector, the screen, the soundbar kit, and a Fire TV Stick at their current sale prices, you’d be spending about $284 for a complete home theater build that’s a cinch to set up.

This Wimius projector is well worth $180 on its own. Trust me when I say it will make your next football party or family movie night epic.
