Shane’s Claim To Fame Season 3 Clues
Shane’s Celebrity Relative Clues Pointed To The Hollywood Legend
During the Claim to Fame season 3 episode 1 Two Truths and a Lie game, Shane told his fellow contestants that his celebrity relative was his cousin, who’s an actor who won an Oscar. He said in his confessional that his relative is an icon in Hollywood. Shane shared that he’s trained in theater, so he knows how to manipulate situations, and his strategy was to misdirect. Shane also told his fellow contestants that he’d spent some time at the Neverland Ranch with Michael Jackson.
During Claim to Fame season 3 week 2, Shane told some of his fellow contestants that he’d had dinner with Elizabeth Taylor, along with his sister. The following week, when the contestants spoke about how they thought that Dedrick might be related to Michael Jackson, Shane revealed in his confessional that he loves Michael so much, and that he was a “very influential person” in his life. He also shared that Michael was his sister’s godfather, and laughed that technically he and Dedrick might be “kind of related … some distant family member.”
During that week’s interrogation game, Shane said that his celebrity relative wasn’t his cousin, and that his relative knew Michael. He also answered that his celebrity relative was still alive, but that was a lie. In the first part of the Claim to Fame season 3 finale, the challenge revealed that Shane’s relative was known as Mr. Mumbles, he was in the TV/Film field, and his notable co-star was Martin Sheen.
In addition, Mackenzie won Shane’s Wine Room Clue, which consisted of holly, a wooden log, an eye plus the letter C plus an “on” button, a “with” sign, a map of Italy, a crown, a safety pin, and a toilet paper roll. She and Hud worked together and were able to figure out what the clue meant.
Shane Is Marlon Brando’s Grandson
There Were More Clues That Connect To Marlon
Shane’s clues all pointed to Marlon Brando, and he’s the late Oscar-winning actor and activist’s grandson. Shane had a strong connection with Michael Jackson because Shane’s father, Miko, who’s Marlon’s son, was Michael’s bodyguard. Marlon and Michael were close friends in the later years of Marlon’s life.
Mackenzie and Hud deciphered Shane’s Wine Room clue to mean, “Hollywood icon with Italian kingpin role,” which referred to Marlon’s Oscar-winning role as Vito Corleone in The Godfather. Everything began to click as Hud remembered that Marlon starred in the film Apocalypse Now with Martin Sheen. He also realized that the spelling challenge clue, “Valkyrie,” referred to the song “Ride of the Valkyries,” which is featured in Apocalypse Now.
Hud also realized that the statue of the sailor on the Clue Wall referred to Marlon’s role in On the Waterfront, and the streetcar referenced A Streetcar Named Desire. During Claim to Fame season 3 week 6, Hud had won a clue in the challenge, which read, “This actor’s character played an integral part in helping save Superman’s life as an infant in the original film.“
Hud realized that this clue referred to Marlon’s role in the original Superman film. Marlon played Jor-El, Superman’s biological father from Krypton. His character sent his infant son, Superman, known as Kal-El, to Earth before dying in the explosion that destroyed Krypton, which would explain how he saved Superman’s life in the original film.
There were other clues that the Claim to Fame season 3 contestants didn’t connect to Marlon. In the week 3 telephone game, one of the limericks had the line, “His toga was in disarray.” This was most likely a reference to Marlon’s Oscar-nominated role as Mark Antony in Julius Caesar. In the week 5 senses challenge, the cannoli and spaghetti represented Marlon’s in The Godfather. A famous line from the film is, “Leave the gun, take the cannoli.” Marlon also won another Oscar for his role in On the Waterfront. In addition, Marlon was called, “Mr. Mumbles,” due to the way that he spoke when he acted.
Shane’s social media profiles also revealed that he was Marlon’s grandson. Although they were set to private during the show, both the Instagram and Facebook pages for Shane Donovan Brando feature a profile picture of Miko, Michael Jackson, and a young Shane. This makes sense because Miko was Michael’s bodyguard, and Shane spoke very highly of him throughout Claim to Fame season 3.
After Mackenzie correctly guessed that Shane was related to Marlon, Shane introduced himself as Shane Donovan Brando, stating that Marlon was his grandpa. He shared that he grew up his whole life living with him, and he spent so much time with him. He said that he was very fortunate. Shane added that, in addition to being an actor, Marlon was also an activist who rejected one of his Oscars (for The Godfather) in order to raise awareness for the way that Native Americans were portrayed in cinema in Hollywood.
Shane did a fantastic job keeping his identity a secret until the very end of the game. As he said in his confessional, if his fellow contestants hadn’t gotten his clue, they would never have figured out who he was. Shane also worked hard to figure out his fellow contestants’ identities. He was a team player and was loyal to his allies. Shane was a great Claim to Fame season 3 player, and his reveal as Marlon’s grandson was very special and will always be remembered.
