The Pokémon franchise has been handing out plenty of treats this Halloween season, and fans of the Pokémon TCG can now collect the rarest cards in the Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle. This special Halloween bundle puts Ghost-types in the spotlight and features some of the franchise’s spookiest fan favorites. The Trick or Trade cards aren’t among the TCG’s rarest, but traders, collectors, and Ghost-type trainers should keep an eye out for the set’s unique holographic rares while the BOOster Bundle is still available in stores.

The Pokémon TCG Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle contains 40 mini-packs with 3 cards each, which means that every bag treats players to a total of 120 Halloween-themed Pokémon cards. The Trick or Trade set consists of a total of 30 cards, 10 of which are holographic. Each mini-pack is guaranteed to have at least one holographic card, making it easy for players to collect them all. With so many cards packed into every Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle, it’s likely that Pokémon TCG fans can snag at least one complete set from a single bag.

Many of the cards in the Pokémon TCG Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle are reprints from previous releases. However, the Pikachu-shaped pumpkin stamp in the corner of the artwork designates these cards as part of the special Halloween set. As such, the bundle’s bite-sized mini-packs are a great way for both new and long-time players to add a complete set of unique cards to their collection.

Umbreon’s Popularity Increases Its Rarity

The Card Is An Uncommon But Its Popularity Makes It Rare

This year marks the dark Eeveelution’s first appearance in the Pokémon Trick or Trade collection. Umbreon is the most fitting evolution to include, since it’s a dark type that’s associated with the moon and nighttime. The card is a reprint of the 2023 Obsidian Flames set, with the addition of the pumpkin Pikachu to mark it as a BOOster pack exclusive.

Although it’s only an Uncommon rarity, Umbreon’s appeal as a fan-favorite Eevee evolution and gorgeous artwork made it a must-have for collectors. Its collectible nature makes it a bit rarer than its fellow Uncommon cards.

Pikachu’s 2022 Printing Is Still A Hit

A Rare Non-Ghost Type

This Pikachu card might seem like it doesn’t belong in a set of spooky Pokémon TCG set. Yellow is the keyword here: The card features a bright yellow Pikachu standing in a field of yellow flowers, on a vibrant yellow background. However, according to TCG Player, this is the only card from the original Trick or Trade packs that has steadily increased in price over the past two years.

Compared to other Pokémon card prices, the charming Pikachu’s $0.28 market price is still incredibly low. However, its popularity means that the more of the card that’s sold, the more rare it will become. The gradually increasing price reflects this trend of dwindling supply, although fans can still get a hold of the card for even cheaper for the time being by keeping an eye on listings.

Chandelure Has A Haunting Description

The Pokémon TCG Trick or Trade set picked some of the scariest Ghost-type Pokémon to feature on its holographic cards, and Chandelure’s haunting Pokédex entries make its lamp-like appearance a lot more chilling. Chandelure uses its ghostly flames to hypnotize its victims, allowing it to absorb and burn their spirits.

This Ghost-type quickly became a Gen 5 favorite thanks to its high attack power and aesthetic charm, both of which carry over to this holographic Trick or Trade print. The Pokémon appeared in all three years, but its current highest-value card is the 2024 edition.

Gengar’s 2022 Edition Is A Classic

Gengar is one of the most iconic Pokémon in the entire series, and it’s by far the most recognizable Ghost-type of all. The Trick or Trade TCG BOOster Bundle features a holographic reprint from the Sword and Shield TCG Chilling Reign expansion, now with the BOOster collection’s special set stamp.

Gengar’s long reign as the franchise’s most beloved ghoul makes the 2022 Halloween holo an excellent find for any fan. This is yet another cool collectible for fans to add to the ever-expanding list of Gengar cards and merchandise.

Gengar’s 2024 Edition Has A Special Whimsy To It

The Gengar cards are so special that there are two worth mentioning in this list. A new illustration of Gengar was added to the 2023 BOOster pack as well, but it’s the 2024 version that remains the most elusive.

The card is printed on Cosmos Holo and has a striking forest-green background. It shows Gengar in the middle of a dark and spooky forest. The Pokémon has a mischievous expression as it sticks its tongue out, and the end result makes it seem almost like Gengar is licking the Pikachu pumpkin sticker in the bottom right of its illustration.

Mewtwo Is A Gen 1 Original

The Pokémon’s Dark History Has A Lasting Appeal

Mewtwo has been one of the most popular Pokémon in the series since its introduction. Its unique importance to Pokémon’s lore has earned it a rare holographic print in the 2022 Trick or Trade bundle. This artificially created Pokémon is a clone of the mysterious and incredibly popular Mew, who is said to be the ancestor of all Pokémon.

Not only is Mewtwo among the most powerful Pokémon to ever exist, but it’s also one of the few capable of human speech. Mewtwo’s compelling tale places this Pokémon a cut above the rest for many fans, making its Trick or Trade holographic rare a worthy pull indeed.

2024 Features A More Vibrant Reprint

Mimikyu is a peculiar Pokémon introduced in Gen 7, and despite its instant popularity, its actual appearance remains unknown. This shy Ghost-Types hides under the guise of a Pikachu costume in an attempt to endear itself to others, but its actual features may be too horrific to behold.

The elusive Pokémon has appeared in every BOOster pack since their release. The 2023 and 2024 cards use the same artwork, but 2024 is the first year the card has appeared as a holographic rare. Printed on the new Cosmos Holo, this ghost-type Pokémon is now one of the rarer pulls from the Pokémon TCG Trick or Trade set.

Darkrai Is A Powerful Gen 4 Legendary

A Rare Holographic Form

Darkrai is one of the best and rarest Legendary Pokémon in the Trick or Trade bundle. Darkrai has been incredibly popular among fans since its introduction in Gen 4, and the aptly named Pitch-Black Pokémon is infamous for plaguing passersby with horrifically dark nightmares.

Between Darkrai’s incredible stats and haunting lore, this notorious Dark-type is by far one of the most exciting holo rares that players can pull from the 2022 Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle. The Pokémon has shown up on many cards in the past, but this card in particular is a reprint of the Darkness Ablaze set from 2020.

Flutter Mane Adds Beautiful Cosmic Foil

The Holo Print Makes It More Appealing

This card was introduced in the 2024 printing of the Trick or Trade pack. It features a beautiful illustration of Flutter Mane, an ancient form of Misdreavus, printed on the new Cosmos Holo foil. The card’s cosmic style spills out of the artwork and onto the border and right side of the card background, completely covering the pumpkin Pikachu stamp in galaxy print.

The card is a reprint of the Temporal Forces version of the Pokémon. However, the Holo Foil makes this a sought-after card, and one of the rarest pulls from the BOOster pack.

Teal Mask Ogerpon Is A Current-Gen Pick

The Highest-Value Card In All The Packs

In previous years, the Pokémon TCG Trick or TradeBOOster Bundle has featured only reprints. For the 2024 BOOster pack, though, a few new cards were added into the mix. One of the most popular is the rare Teal Mask Ogerpon. The card’s rarity is twofold: It’s printed on the newly introduced Cosmos Holo, and it’s one of very few non-ghost type Pokémon in the set. The grass-type Pokémon is one of the newest Pokémon introduced into the franchise in general.

The legendary Ogerpon first appeared in The Teal Mask DLC of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, released in 2023. According to TCG Player, the Holo Rare card is worth about $0.40, making it the most expensive and rarest Pokémon Trading Card Game card from the Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle, at least for now.
