American Idol winner Noah Thompson just announced his new single while performing the tune at a very special location. Noah won American Idol season 20 after performing songs like Rihanna’s “Stay,” Harry Styles’ “Falling,” Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” and Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire.” While winning and signing a contract with a record company gave him a great opportunity to launch his country music career, unfortunately, Noah was dropped by his label and has been working as an independent artist ever since.

What Noah Thompson Releasing New Music Means For Career

The Success Of “Upbringing” Could Spell Good News For “American Dream”

Noah is determined to continue his music career, even though he’s now an independent artist. He doesn’t have a huge record company helping him book gigs, choose producers or record songs. As of now, his new single, “American Dream,” isn’t available to stream or buy just yet. That will likely happen soon, so fans should keep an eye on his social media updates for that announcement.

It’s always disappointing when an American Idol winner or contestant gets dropped by their record label. In recent years, that career setback is becoming more common. Idol winners nowadays are no longer guaranteed a record contract anymore. Noah showing off how many streams his songs get on streaming services is great to see because he’s proud that he still has a fan base that will show up to listen to his music. Hopefully, “American Dream” finds similar success as “Upbringing.” Maybe he can use those accomplishments to find a record label that’s interested in helping him showcase these meaningful songs.
