Amy Slaton has lost so much weight since the premiere of 1000-Lb Sisters, and she’s enjoying her new active lifestyle to the fullest. 36-year-old Amy has been spending the entire summer hanging out with her sons, 4-year-old Gage and 2-year-old Glenn Halterman. Long time fans of the unscripted series will recall that Amy lost weight specifically so she could have children. She had always dreamed of being a mother, but when she made her television debut in 2020, she weighed over 400 pounds, so getting pregnant was out of the question.

Amy had bariatric surgery during 1000-lb Sisters season 1, lost 125 pounds, and went on to have two healthy baby boys. Since losing weight and having her sons, Amy’s life has changed completely, and, in many ways, she’s like a whole new woman. These days, Amy spends all of her time with her boys, enjoying her healthier body and more active lifestyle. Read on to find out more about the recent first that she and her boys celebrated together.

Amy Is A Single Mother Now

She’s A Divorceé

When 1000-lb Sisters premiered in 2010, Amy and her husband, Michael Halterman, were newlyweds who seemed to be made for each other. Michael was a fan favorite because he always seemed to be there for Amy and for the rest of her family. Everything changed after Amy and Michael had two little boys to care for, and Amy started to feel like Michael wasn’t being supportive enough. After a season of uncharacteristic fighting, Amy and Michael announced their divorce in 2023.

Since the split, Amy has been a single mother and co-parenting with Michael.

Glenn’s First Ride

Slaton Family Fun At The Carnival

Since her split from Michael, the 1000-lb Sisters season 5 alum has done her best to give her sons a fun and active childhood. Amy recently posted a TikTok commemorating a fun family day at an amusement park. In the seven-minute-long video, Glenn and Gage enjoy several carnival rides, and Glenn even goes on his first amusement park ride ever.

The post has 900 likes, and Amy’s caption reads,
“Glenn first rides @Holiday World Splashin Safari.”

Amy Has Been Modeling Good Behavior For Her Sons

Amy struggled with weight her whole life, so it’s understandable that the 1000-lb Sisters star worries about her sons not having to struggle with weight the way she does. With that in mind, Amy seems to be really focused on spending a lot of time outdoors with her boys, visiting their local parks, and participating in sports. Since Amy grew up without good and healthy role models, she wants to be sure to model good behavior for her sons.
