Chris Hemsworth added another credit to his increasingly long résumé: professional drummer.
On Saturday, everyone’s favorite Norse (by way of Australia) god joined his pal Ed Sheeran in Bucharest, Romania, to play Sheeran’s hit “Thinking Out Loud” in front of an audience of 70,000 people.
Hemsworth had learned to play the drums from scratch as part of a challenge for his National Geographic show, Limitless With Chris Hemsworth.
In a video posted to Instagram, Sheeran said the Furiosa star called him up last December to tell him about a “documentary” he was doing about “cognitive heath and the benefits of learning instruments.”
“I’ve been thinking about this a lot,” Hemsworth told Sheeran. “I’m ready to put this one to bed.”
While he seemed nervous to get on stage at the National Arena, Hemsworth delivered on his percussive potential, earning a special “participation award” from Sheeran after the show.
