Florence Pugh knows how to command a red carpet.

The Don’t Worry Darling star, 28, strutted her stuff on the red carpet at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, where she attended the premiere of her newest film We Live in Time on Friday, Sept. 6.

For the red carpet, Pugh wore an eye-catching full-skirt Tamara Ralph ball gown. The pastel pink satin dress included crinkled effects across the wide skirt.

The gown’s bodice was made of a fitted ruching look draped in a crisscross design, accentuating her waist. The neckline included a deep sweetheart illusion with a black leather bow and a matching rose pinned in the middle.

For the Oscar nominee’s glam, she sought inspiration from OId-Hollywood, wearing her bob in a sophisticated, sleek style with a subtle curl. Her makeup, topped with pale pink eyeshadow, remained simple and shimmery, with a subtle cat-eye eyeliner and rosy pink lipgloss.

As for accessories, Pugh wore only a pair of dangle drop diamond earrings and a silver septum ring.

In the new film, Pugh stars opposite Andrew Garfield as Almut to his Tobias. “Almut and Tobias are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives,” reads an official synopsis for the movie. “As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in filmmaker John Crowley’s decade-spanning, deeply moving romance.”

Pugh shaved her head for the movie to immerse herself in her character, who is diagnosed with cancer. She opened up about her decision to do so in an interview with Vanity Fair published on Sept. 5.

She told the outlet that Crowley told her that wigs and other hairpieces were options — but she was adamant about fully committing to her character’s journey with a real-life transformation.

“I just stopped him mid-sentence and I was like, ‘John, no one can play a character like this in a movie like this and not do the thing that is needed to be done,’ ” she said. “And if you don’t want to do it, I believe that you shouldn’t be doing a story like this.”

“I think there was this weird rumor on the internet saying that I did it to take back my identity,” Pugh recalled reading, though she’d never claimed any statement of the sort in her “entire life.”

Pugh first showed off her shaved head at the 2023 Met Gala, where she wore a white Valentino dress and a dramatic headpiece. Her plunging white dress featured a massive train, and her headpiece towered over her entire look. She walked the famed stairs with the then-creative director of the house, Pierpaolo Piccioli.

We Live in Time hits theaters on Oct. 11.
