John Stamos’ wife Caitlin McHugh is celebrating her shining star of a husband for his birthday.
On Monday, Aug. 19, The Vampire Diaries actress, 38, helped her husband ring in his 61st birthday by showing everyone just how much light he adds to the world — quite literally.
“To the Birthday Boy who knows how to light up the world, may this year bring you everything your heart desires, you deserve it! Happy Birthday @johnstamos,” she captioned an Instagram Reels of the Full House alum — whom she wed in 2018 — twirling a pair of sparklers in a backyard.
McHugh added a mashup of Trap Beckham’s 2016 single “Birthday B—-” to the social media clip.
She also added an emoji on the video, pointing to Stamos to match the lyrics, “Point to the birthday person!”
Melissa Coulier, the wife of Stamos’ Full House costar Dave Coulier, sent her well wishes in the comment section.
“Happiest of Days to your love, @caitlinskybound!! Wishing you the best day, Poops!! @johnstamos ❤️,” she wrote.
The UnPrisoned actor also shared a tribute of his own for his special day, taking a trip down memory lane by posting a sweet throwback video of himself as a child with his late father, William John Stamos.
“On my dads lap, at just three years old, ready to make a wish, I swear I could hear my dad’s voice whispering in my ear, ‘You’ll have a charmed life, boy.’ It’s a moment captured on film, one that has stayed with me ever since,” he began in a lengthy but heartfelt Instagram caption.
“Every day feels like a celebration when you’re surrounded by the kind of love I’m blessed with,” Stamos said.
He rounded out his post by noting that he’s thankful for “Every moment, every hug, every laugh.”

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love you show me, not just today but every day. You all mean the world to me. XOJS,” the actor concluded.
Meanwhile, over on his Instagram Stories, Stamos revealed that one of his favorite TV shows that he, McHugh and their 6-year-old son William “Billy” Christopher Stamos have been enjoying as of late is the cooking show Is It Cake?
The premise of the Netflix series is for chefs to bake hyper-realistic cakes and desserts that leave viewers wondering, is it real, or Is It Cake?
To continue celebrating his birthday, Stamos asked his followers to decide between two drum sets which was real and which was cake.
“Our new tradition is the day before my birthday, we’re gonna actually do our own Is It Cake?” he said while wearing a Pikachu apron with what appeared to be cake mix all over himself.
Next, he placed the drum sets beside one another and asked via a poll which was a cake.
Though it may have seemed like an obvious choice, Stamos quipped that the folks at home voted incorrectly by choosing No. 1 — an actual drum set.
“You’re wrong! That’s not a cake!” he said laughing as McHugh tried to cut the instrument with a knife from behind the camera. “Can’t believe you guys.”
“This is the cake. You can’t tell?” he said before blowing out his candles.
