The spinoff of Reacher, focused on the supporting character of Frances Neagley, is officially greenlit, and new plot details are revealed. Neagley first appeared in Reacher season 1, played by Maria Sten, and the character has since become the closest companion to Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher. But she will also be headlining her own spinoff.
Deadline confirms that the Neagley spinoff, first reported in September, has officially been ordered to series at Prime Video. The announcement came during the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event, which occurred in London on October 1. The project will be written by Reacher series creator Nick Santora, who developed the show with Law & Order writer Nicholas Wootton. The two will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. A release date is so far unknown.
Along with the news that the show is officially moving forward, a new synopsis has been unveiled. It reveals that Neagley will become hellbent on justice when she learns that a friend from her past is killed in a suspicious accident. She’ll use everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher, in addition to her time as a member of the 1100 Special Investigators, to stare down a menacing evil. The complete synopsis is included below:
The Untitled Neagley Project focuses on Sten’s Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Jack Reacher’s circle.
