For someone who likes to stay healthy and active, I can say that wearables have come a long way in the past decade. Ten years ago I was wearing a Fitbit Charge that had extremely basic functions like step-tracking and caller ID, all for around $150 (that’s $200 in today’s money adjusted for inflation). Today you can pick up a Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, with loads more features, for $170 — that’s over 40% off — thanks to this early-Black Friday deal at Amazon.

The aluminum casing is so lightweight, you’ll forget you’re wearing anything on your wrist.

Why is this a good deal? 💰
This Galaxy Watch 6 was originally $300, so with this deal you’re getting $130 off the original price (close to an all-time low). That’s a steal considering the features you’ll get, like heart rate monitoring, ECG and sleep tracking.
Why do I need this? 🤔
What health and wellness features does the Galaxy 6 Watch include? Pretty much all of them. Advanced sleep coaching, fitness tracking that automatically detects which exercise you’re doing, advanced heart rate monitoring, even a running coach. In addition to health features, this watch features 16GB of storage, a lightweight, waterproof, aluminum case and a 40mm watch face with larger options available for a bit more.
Can you pair your Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 to a non-Samsung Android phone? Yes. Will it work in the same way? Ehhh. Samsung is like Apple in that your overall experience with a Samsung wearable like the Galaxy Watch 6 is going to be better when paired with a Samsung device, so while you can connect your watch to your Google phone, it’s not as easy to do and you’ll be missing out on a few of the features.
What reviewers say 💬
Over 4,500 happy customers have given this watch a five-star rating.
Pros 👍
“I was a Fitbit girl for many years,” admitted one five-star reviewer, who switched to the Galaxy 6 due to the added features. “The size is perfect. I didn’t want a bulky one and I was afraid of the bezel one being too big… I love the different watch faces and the custom features. I bought extra watch bands and face covers to protect it. I’m having fun with it.”
“I love the level of customization, and especially like that it automatically has everything from my phone connected, including my calendar and text messages,” mentioned another former FitBit user, who added, “The battery does drain after about 24 hours, if you’re using the more advanced tracking capabilities. But I just charge it every morning while I’m showering. It charges extremely fast.”
A final five-star reviewer purchased the Galaxy 6 Watch solely for the health features. “I don’t need all the various bells and whistles of the most recent Galaxy Watches. I like the health tracking this one offers, I use the text function often and I find the music interface helpful when on a run or walk.”
Cons 👎
“Despite turning the brightness down, and a few other tweaks, I still have to charge this watch EVERY day,” cautioned one user who thought the watch should have better battery life. “I’m sure many people simply charge their watch at night, but it’s important to me to have a watch that tracks my sleeping patterns, so that’s not an option. It takes about an hour to charge in full, so that means it sits on the charger during the day… every day.”
Another four-star reviewer loved everything about the watch… almost. “The only downside for me is that the LTE feature only works if your provider supports eSIM, and not all do, they cautioned. “If you don’t have a major carrier like AT&T or T-Mobile, you won’t be able to use LTE, so make sure to check with your provider first.”
