The View cohost Sara Haines is cutting into reporter Bret Baier’s behavior during his Fox News interview with presidential candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris.
After Harris’ sit-down with Baier aired Wednesday on the conservative network, the ladies of The View reacted to the exchange on Thursday’s live show, with Haines and former Donald Trump White House communications staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin criticizing Baier’s conduct throughout the conversation.
“I think that it was smart that she showed up. She’s running, she says all the time to be president for all Americans, that includes Fox News viewers,” Griffin, 35, observed, calling the overall interview a “mixed bag” of wins and misses for Harris with less than three weeks to go before Americans head to the polls. “She showed up and proved to Fox News viewers that she’s not a moron like Trump has called her, she has a command of the facts, and she pushed back on this notion that she can’t be tough.”
She added that, “I think he interrupted her way too much,” which Haines, 47, agreed with.
“The constant jumping in, I couldn’t help but feel it’s because she’s a woman that he’s going to keep doing this, so it got a little hard to watch at times,” Haines replied. “You allow yourself to define who you are, if they hear it from your mouth, people aren’t just talking about it, so people are going to watch and see how she held her own.”
Haines added that she wished Harris had pointed out “misinformation and disinformation” she feels Fox News propagates, because Harris is “running against a person who continually shops in those conspiracy theories,” she finished.
Both Griffin and Haines referenced a notable moment from the Baier-Harris interview, which saw the journalist interrupt Harris as she attempted to answer a question about immigration.
“May I finish responding, please? You have to let me finish, please,” Harris said after Baier attempted to speak over her response. “I’m in the middle of responding to the point you’re raising, and I’d like to finish.”
Haines and her cohosts have regularly pushed back against such claims both on The View and on other networks, including Ana Navarro calling out Trump’s repeated, debunked assertion that Haitian migrants are eating the pets of citizens in Springfield, Ohio.

Continuing its own roster of high-profile political interview guests, The View will welcome Harris’ VP candidate, Tim Walz, to the show next week, Joy Behar announced at the top of Thursday’s show.
Walz’s appearance follows the program’s revolving door of powerful interview subjects, recently including Hillary Clinton, Harris, and President Joe Biden.
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on ABC.
