As someone who used to write about cars for a living, I’ve spent a lot of time behind the wheel, eating my fair share of meals there. But I also hate messes, and few cars have a cup holder big enough for my big insulated mug or water bottle. Thankfully, there’s a solution that keeps the fries off the floor and my cup from spilling: the Seven Sparta Cup Holder Tray, on sale for $22. That’s less than I paid for my last car wash.

Chicken or beef? This cup holder’s tray has room for both Big Macs, whether you’re a traditionalist or, er, poultry curious.

Why is this a good deal? 💰
You can save 20% on this car must-have thanks to an on-page coupon. You can also grab a pack of two if you have multiple rides — the set is also discounted. Any road warrior would agree: A few bucks spent on making a long trip more comfortable is money well spent.
Why do I need this? 🤔
The extender fits inside cup holders between 2.5 inches and 3.75 inches in diameter, using them as a base to hold larger bottles and tumblers that have up to a 4-inch diameter. That alone has made many Yeti Rambler owners very excited, but it also can fit the best water bottles from brands like Hydro Flask, Nalgene, Camelbak and Klean Kanteen. (The viral Stanley Quencher is famously designed with a narrow base to fit into most cup holders, even without this kind of add-on.)
The extender features a ring that’s used as a second, standard-size cup holder and holds the tray. The tray swivels 360 degrees so you can put it in a position that’s safe and comfortable, even if you need to eat lunch behind the wheel. With a surface area of over 60 square inches and a weight limit of 40 pounds, you can fit even the most super-sized of fast-food meals on the tray easily.
The Seven Sparta will fit in most cup holders, so that means boats, RVs and even golf carts are fair game too. While the cup holder is described as universal, there are some vehicles it’s not compatible with, including the Toyota Rav4, Subaru Outback and Mazda3. Make sure to check out the compatibility list and measure your cup holders to make sure this will work for you.
What reviewers say 💬
This problem-solver has nearly 2,700 five-star fans, and it’s easy to see why.
Pros 👍
“My new car came with really tight cup holders that wouldn’t accommodate my large Yeti,” wrote a rave reviewer. “This solved that problem.”
“My husband loves it,” shared another happy shopper. “He was able to hold two cups (his Yeti and Starbucks) and have a tray for his breakfast to boot. He is traveling to different work sites often, and this keeps things organized and mess-free.”
Shoppers who spend a lot of time in their cars say it’s a game-changer for keeping things neat and organized. “I am a home care nurse,” reported a rave reviewer. “I pretty much live in my car 8-10 hours a day. This is exactly what I needed. It holds a portion of my lunch. It will hold my coffee or soda … I have emptied my pockets onto the tray and it holds up well.”
“I travel all over my state for work,” shared another nurse. “Always have the passenger seat with my laptop. Now my fries and burger have their own place while I’m driving. And as a nurse, that large cup holder holds a pump of hand sanitizer. Worth the money.”
Cons 👎
While the cup holder and tray work as expected for many buyers, there are some drawbacks. “They are kind of awkward to have two of them in the pair of cup holders that are next to each other in the vehicle,” described one four-star reviewer. “You won’t get use of the full 360-degree rotation if you expect to use the cup holder at the same time.”
“This has helped when I needed a little extra space or place to set my food,” said a final shopper. “However, whenever there is a passenger in the car, it gets in the way. The tray is either hitting them in the leg or hitting the gear stick. Works great if no one is riding shotgun.”
