This is the color celebs (and everyone else) will be wearing in fall 2024

Every season brings new trends, some of them surprising (like mesh ballet flats for summer!) and others, not so much (like florals for spring). Every fall, however, people tend to darken up their wardrobes with black leather jackets, brown suede ankle booties or chunky tan sweaters. Only this year, they’re going to be adding more navy pieces to their closets too. Celebs like Demi Moore, Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Martha Stewart have all been spotted wearing the moody blue hue from head to toe in the last few weeks, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Navy isn’t as intense as black, but it’s just as flattering. It’s a good neutral so you can wear it from season to season, and it won’t go out of style next year. That means, whatever new navy items you buy, choose ones that are high quality and plan to wear them for very long time.

Of course, you may already have a few navy items in your wardrobe. But if you could use a little update, take a look at some of our favorite navy pieces for the fall season below.

Quince

Amazon

This fuzzy knit sweater will quickly become your cozy go-to this fall and winter. It has a classic crewneck and oversized cuffs at the wrists to give it a little extra flair. However, the oversized fit is what makes it especially great for wearing with jeans, leggings and anything else you want to wrap up in on a chilly day.

J.Crew

You can start wearing this bouclé bomber jacket this fall and wear it into the spring — and then probably for many years to come. The classic fit is a casual favorite amongst fashionistas and the neutral color means you can wear it with anything, making it a pretty solid investment.

Coach Outlet

Wear this Coach crossbody now and every season after. It features the brand’s signature C-print canvas with its logo in gold atop navy leather.

Quince

Add this silk blouse to your closet and wear it to the office, out to dinner and beyond. It’s a great day-to-night piece and looks so much more expensive than it is. (We also like that it’s machine-washable!)

Spanx

You probably think of shape wear when you hear Spanx, but the brand makes incredible clothing as well, including these stretch twill pants. Wear them with a navy sweater for a monochromatic look or a crisp white button-down.

Old Navy

Polo sweaters have become more popular in recent years thanks to TikTok’s affinity for the “old money style.” Ironically, this $30 sweater fits the bill and it has a slight nautical look, thanks to its horizontal stripes.

J.Crew

Don’t knock faux leather pants until you try them! They’re an easy and comfortable way to dress up without even trying. Pair them with a navy sweater (like Demi Moore did) and heels for dinner or with sneakers and a T-shirt for a day out on the town. The style possibilities are endless (just like the compliments you’ll get).

Amazon

Lady jackets (especially J.Crew’s) are mighty popular this season, and this affordable version at Amazon is a great way to try the “stealth wealth”-inspired trend. It comes in range of prints, styles and colors, but we love this navy striped version. Wear it on its own buttoned up with jeans or over a T-shirt.

Calpak

You can incorporate navy into your travel this season as well. Calpak’s popular Luka Large Duffel comes in the stylish shade — but that’s only half the appeal. Our editors have tested and love this versatile weekender/gym duffle/carry-on bag.

The secret sauce is a waterproof, yet breathable hidden compartment for shoes or wet clothes. There’s also a laptop sleeve and ample pockets inside to keep you organized. A crossbody strap makes it easy to throw over your shoulder and a trolly sleeve makes it ideal for slipping over a luggage handle for easy transport throughout the airport.

Rothy’s

Ballet flats are another big spring and summer trend that will definitely carry into the fall — especially when they come in this autumn-worthy hue. Rothy’s comfortable and sustainable flats come in a range of colors, but this navy pointed pair are a standout.
